Beneficiaries of Big Gay Frat House fundraisers

We try to ensure that our fundraisers help support the entire fabric of our community: AIDS and other social service programs, performing arts groups, athletic teams, and academic and professional associations. The following charitable agencies have been beneficiaries of fundraisers held in our home.

AIDS Emergency Fund - The AEF provides emergency grants to help people with AIDS cover emergency expenses like rent and utilities. Alas, twice in our history we've had to cancel events (the Brotherhood party in October 2007 and our last Girl Drink Drunk, which had been slated for September), and both times the AEF was the intended beneficiary. We will make it up to them!

AIDS Housing Alliance - The AHA provides housing-related advocacy and support for renters with HIV and AIDS. They were the beneficiary of our third Girl Drink Drunk, when Artemis Chase won the competition to serve as Miss August for the 2007 Desperate Divas calendar.

Community United Against Violence - Provides emergency services and support for LGBT victims of hate crimes and domestic abuse, as well as providing related education and prevention programs. CUAV was the beneficiary of A Midsummer Night's Dream, our last Girl Drink Drunk, and Another Gay Fundraiser.

Project Open Hand - Provides meal and food services for people with AIDS and catastrophic illnesses as well as for seniors. They were the beneficiary of our second Girl Drink Drunk fundraiser.

SF Boylesque - San Francisco's only (and the nation's first?) all male burlesque troupe held Flop House at the BGFH in April 2008.

SF Fog - Our local gay rugby team has benefited from more fundraisers at the BGFH than any other group, including our first event, the Balls Out Ball, as well as our first Girl Drink Drunk and the Big Gay Garage Sale.

SF GoalDiggers - The gay men's hockey team was the beneficiary of our Girl Drink Drunk fundraiser in July 2007.

SF Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band - San Francisco's official marching band was the beneficiary of our Girl Drink Drunk in May 2007.

Sigma Epsilon Omega fraternity - SEO, the first surviving gay fraternity at UC Berkeley, was a huge hit at our Frat House for the Holidays fundraiser.

Stop AIDS Project - The agency which provides AIDS-prevention education and outreach was the beneficiary of Girl Drink Drunk in June 2007.

UC Gay & Lesbian Alumni Association - Association for gay alumna of UC Berkeley was the official beneficiary of Frat House for the Holidays.
